Starting this Sunday, enjoy a variety of Fourth of July celebrations around the Triangle. Baseball games, children’s parades, concerts, and a watermelon seed spitting contest are among the planned events in our area. The News and Observer has posted a comprehensive list to help you decide where and how to celebrate.

If you haven’t heard, Raleigh’s firework display has moved back to the PNC Arena and Fairgrounds area after spending the last six years downtown. According to an April article in the News and Observer, the move back to West Raleigh is a result of changing skylines and continued construction.  The original location will provide a better view for everyone.

The Star Spangled Block Party at Brier Creek is another fun family option for fireworks.  It starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and followed by the fireworks show after dark.  Triangle on the Cheap has the details.
